Fashion-industry designer Jeffrey Johnson had a long-running feud with sales executive Steven Ercolino. Both are now dead.
On Aug. 24, Johnson waited outside Hazan Import?s office on 5th Avenue near the Empire State Build??ing. As Ercolino and a co-worker approached the office, Johnson pulled out a pistol and opened fire. Then he turned back toward the Empire State Building. Two police officers confronted him. When Johnson pulled out his gun, the officers shot and killed him, also wounding nine by????standers.
Johnson had been terminated from his position at Hazan, but waited almost two years to exact revenge. According to neighbors, he still dressed in his suit each morning and left his home at the same time. Few knew he was out of work.
