Rob Williams Named Asst. Lacrosse Coach at Florida Southern

Rob Williams, who has four years of playing experience and five years of coaching experience at Division I Binghamton University (N.Y.), is the new assistant men's lacrosse coach at Florida Southern College. Williams will be the top assistant for head coach Marty Ward.

Williams was a four-year starter (2004-07) for Binghamton and finished his career ranked third in school history in goals scored and sixth in points scored. He was team captain as a senior. He joined the Bearcats' coaching staff following his playing career and completed his fifth year on the staff this season. He has served as the team's offensive coordinator, as well as recruiting coordinator.

"Rob is a great addition to our program and will serve as our offensive coordinator next season," Ward said. "He brings a great lacrosse background to our program and has experience recruiting quality student-athletes."

In addition to his work at Binghamton, Williams has extensive experience working lacrosse camps in the Northeast. He received his bachelor's degree in human development in 2007.

Williams is joining a Moccasin program that enjoyed the best season in its brief four-year history in 2012. In their second season under Ward, the Moccasins were 10-6, posting the most wins in a single season for FSC and were runners-up in the Deep South Conference Tournament for the second straight year. The Moccasins finished the season ranked in the top 20 in Division II in scoring offense (19th) and scoring defense (15th).
