Retaining the top spot in the Interbrand report, Toyota was praised for its environmental sustainability and green image - particularly in light of its commitment to hybrid and electric vehicles.
The company was also celebrated for achieving a landfill status of virtually zero across its North American facilities.
A second Japanese carmaker in the shape of Honda was also named at the top of the consultancy's second annual Best Global Green Brand Report.
Commenting on the report, David Pearson, global sustainability leader at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, said: "It is becoming increasingly clear that sustainability is a 'must have' rather than a 'nice to have' for a lot of companies."
He added that commitment to the environment can help a company grow, cut its costs and improve its margins, and boost its brand image.
